Optionally provide reference data in output file

Reported by: Andy Buckley Owned by: Andy Buckley

Description

We should have a mechanism for adding the reference data for papers to the output data file(s). This introduces the problem of needing an AIDA XML reader.

I'm drifting towards the idea of taking the reference data from flat files, which would make this easier. I suspect that the AIDA format is putting people off, and no-one is going to write them by hand, so flat files might be a better default format anyway... but I'm not sure. This is certainly a much-requested feature, blocked by technical problems with reading/writing XML from C++: and adding a Python rivetgun interface wouldn't solve this problem.
